This is a Seuss tell about a greedy turtle who is hungry for power. Yertle believes that everything he sees belongs to him and he wants to see everything. In his quest to do this, he takes advantage of his turtle subjects. I would implement this story in my classroom to talk about cause and effect. Students would look at how Yertle's actions effected the end of the story. This book is intended for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.
