ED 411-Chester's Way

Chester's Way - Kevin Henkes

Chester likes things to be done a certain way, his way. He does not like change. That is, until Lilly moves in. Chester learns that it is okay to mix things up sometimes. I would implement this book in my classroom as a way to talk about diversity. I would have students make an anchor chart on a topic like eating sandwiches. Then the class would discuss how they eat sandwiches-with crusts, without crusts, cut in triangles, cut in rectangles, or they don't eat sandwiches, gross! This book is intended for K, 1st, and 2nd graders.
